"Bosco was
just the perfect guide for me as a woman traveling alone.
He made me feel secure and he was kind and very knowledgeable.
We had a great time traveling on those awful roads.
I loved seeing the gorillas. Our group was two people and
all other groups were eight, so we got a lot of time in that
one hour.
I'm very glad I went and especially that I had Bosco as my
guide. He is a delightful man. So easy to be around and helpful."

"Just a few
words to thank you for your assistance with our visit to Uganda.
We enjoyed the stay very much, and the safari met our expectations!"

"Onze safari door Oeganda was geweldig.
We hebben veel wild in Murchison Falls en in Queen Elizabeth
NP gezien. Bwindi was een zware trekking vanwege de erg steile
berghelling, maar gelukkig hadden we de gorilla's na 1:30
uur al gevonden. Dit was een geweldige ervaring en zeker iets
om niet te vergeten en we hebben enorm genoten van de mooie
bergachtige omgeving van Bwindi.
De accommodaties waren voor ons perfect en hadden in een enkele
geval zelfs minder luxe gemogen (Primate Lodge). De activiteiten
zelf waren geheel naar wens en ook Beki deed het als gids
erg goed. We hebben daarom erg genoten van de safari die we
gemaakt hebben!

"Our safari in Uganda was great.
We saw a lot of wildlife in Murchison Falls and in Queen Elizabeth
NP. Bwindi was a challenging tracking because of the steep
hills, but fortunately we already found the gorillas after
1.5 hours. This was a fantastic experience, absolutely something
to never forget and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful mountainous
surroundings of Bwindi.
The accommodations were perfect for us and in some cases could
have been even less luxury (Primate Lodge). The activities
were nice and also our guide Beki was great. Therefore we
absolutely enjoyed our safari!"

"Carolyn and I really enjoyed all
aspects of the safari trip. Everything went smoothly and we
had lots of fun. Our guide, Gerald, was the best. He was very
knowledgeable, friendly, as well as considerate and attentive
to all our needs. His English was excellent; his driving amazing
and was undoubtedly one of the best guides we have ever had.
Primate Lodge Kibale, Mweya Safari Lodge and Buhoma Lodge
were excellent in all regards. The nature guides and wildlife
viewing during our trip were excellent and most enjoyable.
The chimpanzee trek was fantastic. In Queen Elizabeth Park,
we really enjoyed our boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. The
highlight was when we saw a leopard walking along the shore.
We were also very happy to see elephants, lions, kob and other
wildlife during our safari rides with Gerald in QE Park. As
to the mountain gorillas in Bwindi, what a thrill that was
to follow them through the steep jungle for an hour!
All in all, the trip was outstanding.
Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, is indeed a great country to
visit on so many different levels - the people, the scenery,
the wildlife, etc. We will enjoy the warm memories of our
trip for years to come."

"The chimps and gorilla experiences
were wonderful. I loved all the places I stayed, but Mihingo
Lodge was especially magical. I think this is one of the most
unique lodges in all of Africa. I would recommend that you
book clients for two nights there.
I came away from my trip thinking that Uganda is probably
the most beautiful country in Africa..."

"It was a beautiful experience and
we will never forget our close encounters with the primates.
Never in my life did we think we would be able to see the
chimps up close and witness the Silverback back in the manner
that we did. We highly recommend Gerald (our driver and naturalist)
as he was very good with us and went out of his way to make
our journey memorable
The chimp habituation is the best way
to observe the chimps as they are in the wild and you get
to see them on the ground, and be with them. The chimp trek
does not always guarantee a close up. Travellers Lodge is
a great place to stay and Ishasha... wow... that was nice.
Especially to find a flushing toilet in the bush. Lasly Lake
Mburo was a beautiful place and if budget and time permits
one should stay there for at least two nights. As there are
other activities like horse riding to see the animals and
other walks that can be done. Thanks again!"

"First of all, it
was a great trip! The accommodations were excellent, as was
the food. The places I liked the best were Mantana and Engagi,
mainly because of the beautiful settings. I LOVED Engagi.
Beki, my guide, was a nice guy, and very efficient. I enjoyed
listening to all his Congolese music as we motored around
on those terrible Ugandan 'roads'.
The gorilla viewing was
tremendous, even when the light was marginal, which it was
a couple of days. Fantastic animals and I was thrilled to
see them. Bwindi felt very 'real' and Rwanda was a bit touristy
in comparison, but that's just the way it is I guess. They
were both enjoyable though. I would certainly recommend people
visit both. Read

"Both Dora and I
would like to thank you and all your staff in particular Beki
on a fantastic trip through Uganda and Rwanda. Our tour guide
and driver Beki was a great guide, driver and host. He was
very knowledgeable on both Uganda and Rwanda and his cohort
in Rwanda Etienne was a great host in Rwanda.
The chimp trek was a great
adventure. Buhoma Lodge was a very nice setting for our first
Gorilla Trek and the food, accommodation and staff were also
great. Rwanda is certainly different from Uganda in particular
the roads. And of course Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge was everything
we expected and more. The trek to Dian Fossey's gravesite
was very emotional on a number of fronts but the hike up the
mountain was well worth it and again the guides were great.
Kigali was also a pleasant surprise and the visit to the genocide
museum and church was again very emotional.
All in all, the trip was
just great, the guides were knowledgeable and very well spoken.
The lodges were clean, well kept and the staff excellent.
We did enjoy the private nature of our trip with Beki and
his truck and the timing of our trip over Christmas worked
out well as most of the lodges were empty."

"I had a very pleasant
stay in Uganda and all was well arranged. David made me feel
so good, he is knowledgeable and made sure I see the chimpanzees
- which was another highlight of my safari other than gorillas.
Thank you. "

"Excellent trip!
Everything ran smoothly and transfer times were well-planned
and manageable. There was also room for flexibility when the
weather did not allow for one of our activities at the planned
time.
Primate Lodge Kibale was
beautifully situated. We loved the safari tent - clean and
comfortable, great views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Mweya Safari Ldoge is western luxury in a remote location
and very well run. Richard was friendly and made us feel at
ease, without every imposing our privacy. He answered all
our (many and varied) questions with patience and considerable
knowledge.
What emerged through the
various activities was a well-rounded picture of the lifestyle
and nature of Uganda: each activity had a different focus,
and they complemented one another superbly. We particularly
liked the elements of community tourism on the trip - it is
good to see the people's way of life without altering or interfering
with it too much. Also good when tourism helps to bring benefits
to the locality."

"Dear friends,
It was a pleasure being
your client again! I enjoyed the trip a lot. Murchison Falls
is a great destination, the Nile Safari Lodge an excellent
hotel with great food and service and comfortable rooms and
Gerald a very pleasant person to have as a guide.
I had a look at your new
venue in Budongo. It looks very promising. I trust Bradt Guides
will mention the improved facilities in their next Uganda
edition. I really enjoyed the tracking. We saw a lot of chimps.
I had an excellent guide that took us around to see as much
as we wanted. All in all it was a great break. Thanks a lot."

"Thank you
once again. I would like to say a big thank you to
you, Gerald, the management and everybody at Great Lakes Safaris.
You all made me feel welcome and at home in Uganda and Rwanda.
As for my trip,
all the activities and arrangements worked out very well and
I am happy to take away a lot of lasting good memories and
experiences. I will recommend Great Lakes to anybody who might
be interested. Please extend my warmest thanks to everybody
who helped and especially to Gerald."
