a few weeks now and miss Uganda. We had an amazing time with
Great Lakes Safaris, thank you so much for organizing such
an awesome trip, that was filled with a great variety of activities
and too many highlights to choose our favourite.
Thank you also for giving us such an amazing guide in Richard,
he really looked after us and showed us the very best of Uganda.
We also felt lucky to have such a knowledgeable guide, who
was so well qualified and tuned in to the animals that we
were lucky enough to see.
We have taken lots of wonderful pictures and have some nice
pictures of Nshenyi. I know that we were the first group from
GLS to go there and we would thoroughly recommend it. The
accommodation was of a high standard and Gertrude the housekeeper
was very welcoming and caring."

quiero dar las gracias al equipo de Great Lakes Safaris por
un viaje tan extraordnario. Angel fue una gran profesional
y Richard resultó ser un perfecto guía y excelente
compañero de viaje.
Respecto a Uganda, decir
que éste ha sido mi primer viaje a África y
que en consecuencia mis expectativas eran enormes. El país
las superó con creces todas y cada una; tanto por alejarse
del turismo de masas, como por su primitiva y exótica
belleza.
Sin duda necesito volver
allí. La serenidad que siente uno ante la imponente
presencia de un espalda plateada, tras haber recorrido una
senda de elefantes, allí, en la vieja y escarpada selva
de Bwindi, es algo que te engancha.
Tengo que decir no obstante, que la experiencia en Kibale
no se queda atrás; los troncos caídos, la tenue
luz, las lianas retorciéndose de forma inverosímil...
todo un escenario de película en el que los actores
principales, los chimpancés, se desenvuelven con una
gracia y agilidad prácticamente inimaginables.
Allí, uno tiene
la oportunidad de casi formar parte del grupo y olvidarse
de todo lo demás. Simplemente patrullas la jungle con
ellos mientras avanzan, se encaraman por las ramas y dan saltos
vertiginosos, chillan y cargan, para luego pararse a descansar
y acicalarse. Sencillamente increíble y muy dificil
de describir. Mejor verlo por ti mismo!"

"First of all, I
would like to express my gratitude to the team of Great Lakes
Safaris for this special tour. Angel was very professional
and Richard turned out to be a perfect guide and excellent
company.
With regard to Uganda,
I have to say that this was my first trip to Africa and therefore
my expectations were enormous. But the country surpassed every
one of them; just as moving away from the mass tourism and
its primitive and exotic beauty.
Without a doubt I have
to come back here. The serenity that you feel in the presence
of an impressive Silverback, after having crossed a track
of elephants, and in the old forest of Bwindi is something
that stays with you.
However, I have to say
that the experience in Kibale was not less special; the fallen
trunks, the faint light, the twisting lianas... everything
is like a movie in which the main actors, the chimpanzees,
move with an unimaginable grace and rapidity.
Here, you have the opportunity
to almost become a member of the group and forget about everything
else. Simply hike through the jungle with them while they
walk in front of you, climb in the branches and make dazzling
jumps, scream and then stop to rest. It's just incredible
and very difficult to describe. You have to see it for yourself!"

"Uganda was simply fantastic. I'd
go back there simply to volunteer and work with an NGO for
a few weeks. The only single thing that was a letdown was
the gorilla permit was with a tiny family, rather than a huge
one. It was great to see them in the wild but we really hoped
for a larger family and babies. Overall though, Great Lakes
Safaris was superb. The last accommodation, Primate Lodge
Kibale, was simply incredible."

"De gorilla tracking was echt geweldig.
Een uur bij die enorme beesten, we moesten op 7 meter afstand
blijven, maar ze liepen zelf op 2 meter voorbij... Oeganda
was erg mooi en groen en de gorilla's spanden de kroon...
We hoefden overigens maar 45 minuten te lopen, dus dat stelde
niets voor.
De accommodaties waren heel erg goed, vooral die bij de gorilla's
was echt luxe en bovendien waren we de enigen en hadden het
rijk voor ons alleen!"

"The gorilla tracking was absolutely
fantastic. One hour with these enormous animals, we had to
keep a distance of 7 metres but they passed us at only 2 metres...
Uganda was very beautiful and green and the visit to the gorillas
was the best... We only had to walk for 45 minutes, so that
was easy.
The accommodations were very good, especially the one with
the gorillas was very luxury and here we were the only ones!"

"I just wanted to
thanks Great Lakes Safaris for everything. We had a great
time, lots of wildlife, walking and we got to meet a lot of
local people. We would definitely recommend GLS and Beki to
any friends for family and most importantly, we would really
recommend Uganda.
Compared particularly to South Africa
or Kenya, Uganda is much more safe and friendly. We enjoyed
the national parks more than we had experienced in Namibia
or Tanzania and had better wildlife viewing in Uganda. An
extra advantage of Uganda is the chance for lots of tracking
and walking opportunities.

"We hebben een topvakantie
gehad. Het verkeer en de stank in Kampala was erg wennen,
maar als je dan terugkwam in de rust van Cassia Lodge was
het weer genieten.
Alles was goed geregeld
en de banda's en de lodges waren prima. Jacana Lodge was een
beleving op zich en ook de overnachting in Mantana Luxury
tented Camp was heel bijzonder en als afsluiting de overnachtingen
in The Haven in Jinja was heel erg fijn. Alle accommodaties
waren prima in orde en de maaltijden zeer goed verzorgd.
Met Noel konden we het
goed vinden. Hij is een erg sympathieke en bezorgde man, een
goede chauffeur en een heel goede gids. Niets dan lof.
Oeganda is een prachtig
groen land met zeer vriendelijke inwoners, we hebben genoten
van de safari’s door de prachtige parken en de vele
wilde dieren.
Het was een geweldige ervaring, heel goed geregeld en we zullen
Great Lakes Safaris zeker aanbevelen bij familie en vrienden."

holiday. Although we had to get used to the traffic and pollution
in Kampala, it was very enjoyable to return to the peace of
Cassia Lodge.
Everything was well arranged
and the bandas and lodges were good. Staying at Jacana Lodge
was an experience, also the overnight at Mantana Luxury Tented
Camp was very special and ending in The Haven in Jinja was
great. All accommodations were good and the meals very well
prepared.
We had a great time with
Noel. He is a very friendly and concerning man, a good driver
