November 2007
Gail Orton & friends, UK

"Just a quick note to say thank you for all your help with our safari. We had a wonderful time in Uganda and loved the trip. We were particularly grateful to have had Paul as our guide. He was very professional, courteous and good fun. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and he knew exactly how to focus on what we were interested in and even managed to convert us to birds!
I think we would all recommend Great Lakes Safaris to anyone we know who is going to Uganda."

"First of all - thank you for putting another memorable trip together for us, and special thanks to David for excellent driving around, as well as his commitment to make best efforts to make us happy.
Regarding the trip itself - initially we came a little bit worried how it would be, since we had very good memories about last years trip and didn't want to be dissapointed. I have to say that we were not dissapointed by any means, even more - there were some nice additions to the trip also.

Overall, all activities during this trip were very well organized and adjusted to our wishes. A very big thanks to all GLS team once again! At some point we want to come back to Uganda once again - feeling there is alsmost like at home! I've been to quite many countries, but there is not such urge to come back to it as it is for Uganda, you have really a wonderful country!"

"We visited Uganda in October 2007. With 'we' I mean our 7 headed television crew from The Netherlands. In just 6 filming days we wanted to capture the Filming crew from The Netherlandscountry on tape. A mission impossible we thought in advance, but it turned out to be a peace of cake. The nature's beauty, the friendly people, the lively villages: Uganda is one of those rare spots in the world where every shot you make is a good one!" Read more...

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time in both Uganda and Tanzania; the itinerary of our trip was just excellent with just the right mix of jeep safari, trekking and a good mix of accommodation too; the hotels in Tanzania were especially brilliant.
We totally loved Uganda with its diverse countryside, amazing gorillas and such welcoming and friendly people. Both David and Adam were great guides and we wish to pass our sincerest thanks onto them both.

We had an amzing time in East Africa and would thoroughly recommend your company to friends of ours wanting to do a similar trip. We had every confidence in your organisational skills and our trip really did exceed our expectations, for which we thank you enormously for!"

"We wanted to thank you all for organizing a fantastic trip. We had a phenomenal time and truly loved Uganda. All of the lodges/camps were great and the staff very friendly.
In particular, Paul was a terrific guide. He has a passion for nature (birds in particular) and he shared this with us throughout the trip. We enjoyed his company and learned a great deal about Uganda, birds and mammals. Great Lakes is fortunate to have him as a guide.
The only scary part of our trip was when the elephants were circling and eating outside our tent at Primate Lodge Kibale. It led to a fairly sleepless night, but was very exciting and a great story.
There is so much more we wanted to do in Uganda (fishing on the Nile, bat caves in Queen Elizabeth, see a Shoebill, tree climbing lions in Ishasha, etc.) that I wouldn't be surprised if we are back in a few years. Thanks for organizing such a great safari!"

"We had a wonderfull stay in your treehouse for one night. Elephants were around from 19.30 hrs untill the whole night... so w didn't get any sleep - but we will never forget the great experience!
Thanks and keep up the good work by protecting the forest and animals!"

"Now that we're safe and sound back home, I wanted to thank you for all the effort you put into making our trip an event to remember. We had an amazing visit with the Nkuringo group and took some great pictures. Thanks again for all your help!"

WINNERS OF THE CHIMP SAFARI

"I would like to thank you for the opportunity you have given us to share with you and with the chimps this safari, and to discover this magical country. We had the opportunity to go to Ngamba Island, where we could see how the chimps lived there. We also went to Jinja to have the most popular tourist activitiy in the country. The rafting in the source of the River Nile was one of the most exciting experiences in my life... It is extreme!! We also visited the Kibale National Park and enjoyed the nature and wildlife!
It has been one of the most exciting holidays ever and we have great memories of the country. The local people are amazing and a great feeling of happiness surrounds Uganda!"

July 2007
Riekus & Ada Schippers, The Netherlands

"We had a fantastic trip! The communication with Great Lakes Safaris in advance was very pleasant and the safari well arranged. Gerald was a very good driver and a great guide. He told us so much about his country, the people and the animals. We couldn't have wished for a better guide and are grateful for meeting him.
It was our first time in Africa and we were amazed by so much beautiful wildlife: elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, lions, zebras, monkeys, hippo's, crocodiles etc. It seemed to be one big zoo! The waterfalls were very impressive and we had the luck to admire many chimpanzees during the chimp tracking. All of the booked accommodations were fine, one a bit more comfortable than the other. Especially Rwenzori View Guesthouse and Bunyonyi Overland Camp were very nice. And in Bwindi we had a fantastic location, as the gorillas were just passing here and we could calmly watch them! In short, we enjoyed a lot and met many friendly people. It was an unforgettable experience!"
