Ingus, Latvia
"Thank you VERY MUCH for putting
a wonderful itinerary together! This certainly was the best
trip what we ever had so far! People all over were very wonderful
and nature beautiful! Visits to various parks were very nice
and some parts really surprised us - I never imagined to get
that close to hyenas and hippos on the foot like we did in
Lake Mburo; chimp walks were very good; even reading a lot
about gorillas didn’t really get our imagination how
great experience is... Honestly we can say good things for
each park where we've been and each one gave something unique
as well - not repeating same thing as in some other countries
where we've been. Rafting was also great experience for me!
Thanks to Great Lakes staff who put this
trip together for us and special thanks to our driver Cosmas
who did everything what we requested and was really good guide
and driver all the way along! We are really considering coming
back to this region and Uganda at some point in the future..."

Read

"On advice of Miranda, working with Great
Lakes Safaris in Kampala, we visited Nshenyi Village. She
had been here herself and the information on the website www.cultural-safaris.com
appealed to us highly. It was a visit to a local farm with
a large herd of Ankole cows and it introduced us to the local
culture.
After all it was an unforgettable experience
and absolutely worth it. You will experience the culture and
enjoy the people and the nature and everything else that you
will encounter. If you have the chance then book a trip to
Nshenyi Village as well!"

"We're now back in the UK and I just
wanted to email you to say thank-you very much for a fantastic
week and safari in Uganda. Your country is beautiful and the
people are very kind and friendly. The safari was fantastic
and we saw everything that we were looking for and more! The
animal and gorilla safaris were spectacular and the accommodation
was top class. Cosmas was an excellent host, very knowledgeable,
funny and great to have for the week. Everything was perfect.
Again thanks a lot and I won't hesitate to recommend you and
your colleagues to any friends in the future. All the best
for the future."

"I spent two nights in Nshenyi Village.
I tried milking cows, locally called ‘Ente’, grazing
them and tasting fresh milk with local food for lunch. Not
a compliment but it was the most tasty milk which I’ve
ever had!
The scenery around the village was so beautiful! I watched
the sky and stars were brighter than fireworks. I listened
to the sound of the wind and the voices of insects in the
dark. Everything in the 2 days stay became the best memories
and unforgettable for me. What I felt thanks to the stay is
that I live on this earth! I can enjoy even my daily life
after realizing it. I really appreciate everyone I met in
the village and I want to continue being involved with Uganda."

"Great Lakes Safaris has been very
instrumental and helpful in unlocking the possibilities of
Uganda and to define a tailor made safari catering to our
interests. We like intense experience at a slower pace, love
to walk and have contact with the local people. Great
Lakes Safaris suggested us a mixed itinerary with game drives,
boat rides, foot safaris, community walks and lodging in the
same place for at least two nights.
Throughout the safari we were in capable
hands of driver/guide Gerald. Apart from the driving, lodging
and logistics, he gave us a background on the country, the
wildlife and his view on a future for Uganda.
We purchased our gorilla permit half a
year in advance, so we were curious how it would be. The reward
of a strenuous walk is seeing the gorillas in THEIR home.
The sounds, the movement, the size of the trees, the foliage,
cracking branches and 8 camera’s clicking."

"Dave and I had a fabulous trip.
Meeting Jaynefer and David in Rwanda was very special to us
and made the trip that much more enjoyable. Everything in
Rwanda was super and exactly as you described it ahead of
time. Trekking with the gorillas was an experience we will
never forget.
Take care and please keep in touch."
