August 2006
Yen Ha, UK
"I thought the tour was very well
planned and everything ran smoothly. Although the guesthouses
were more basic than I expected, it was clean and okay. The
food was good in all the establishments and I really enjoyed
the home cooked meals at Abbey’s Guesthouse.
I really enjoyed the activities and we say nearly everything.
I really liked the game drives, and the chimp trekking was
also very interesting. The boat launch in the afternoon was
great too. I liked everything! The driver Beki was excellent.
He was very knowledgeable about the parks and animals, and
a pleasure to be with.
In all, it was a wonderful experience.
Very relaxing and nice to be surrounded by nature and the
natural beauty of the park. Beki was really doing his best
to make sure that we had an enjoyable time, so we really appreciated
this."

"We had a great trip that more than
met our expectations. The most interesting part was the walk
in the gorge, but we also enjoyed the boat trip. We thought
the hotel/guesthouses were clean, basic and friendly. The
food was tasty and local. Besides, we loved Beki. He really
made the effort to make everything enjoyable. Nothing was
too much of a bother to him. He paid attention to all the
details. In summary, it was an excellent tour. Very enjoyable
and varied; perfect for a short break."

"During the last months of July and
beginning of August, we were in Uganda for a journey in some
national park with Great Lakes Safaris travel agency.
The trip was good because Uganda is a beautiful country with
many interesting places to see. Our itinerary was studied
in advance by mail by the Great Lakes Safaris operators. During
the trip the itinerary appeared well constructed, though we
wanted to bring some changes to ensure the best success to
our journey. This was made after a small discussion with the
agencies staff and our guide, and at last all things were
good.
I have some suggestions for Uganda visitors.
Don’t forget in your itinerary Ishasha River Camp in
Queen Elizabeth National Park and Semliki National Park. Another
good place to visit is the zone of the crater lakes, near
Ndali Lodge in Fort Portal. And more, along the road from
Fort Portal to Murchison Falls, it is a good idea to stop
at time to see the very interesting villages. You must start
very early from Fort Portal and you will arrive late in the
afternoon in Murchison, but stop on the way to see the life
of the villages. It is a stunning experience."

Kevin Wood and Tara Clark, UK
"We have some wonderful memories
of our trip, in fact Tara has made many collages of the photos
we took. Gerald takes pride of place in the centre of one!!
We were so lucky to have Gerald as our guide. I feel he really
made the trip the success it was and we must thank him again
for all his hard work keeping us safe, well and educated.
Both our parents have expressed a desire to come to Uganda,
as have many of our friends, so we have passed on the details
of Great Lakes. Hopefully we will come out with our parents
in the next few years so we will have to book Gerald again.
There have been many nature programs on television over here
recently. In fact one was filmed in Ngamba Island and so bought
back many memories.
Thanks again for a wonderful trip and all your help."

"We appreciated the friendliness,
expertise and punctuality of our guide, Noel. The cruise on
the Nile was great, as was the visit to Murchison Falls. Thanks
again."
