"Thank you for all your arranging and making our trip to Uganda such a memorable one. Sue and the team had a wonderful time and really brought back some amazing footage.

I am delighted that you have had such a good response from those who watched the show. If ever we plan a trip to Uganda again - you will be the first person I call. Take care!"

"My husband and I had promised our son Andrew that one day we would go back with him to the land of his birth. 2005 was the year we finally made it - forty years later. With the help of Great Lakes we had an amazing three-week trip throughout Uganda - the national parks; the smaller game sanctuaries, the villages and their rich daily life; even the church where we were married in the early sixties. We needed a very special kind of safari, with the wonders of Uganda's parks being combined with the friendliness and charm of the Ugandan people. Great Lakes showed us how a visit such as this could be tailor-made, could penetrate some of the remotest locations and, despite those bumpy roads, come up at the end with six individuals totally convinced that Uganda is indeed a very special place.

We cannot speak too highly of how Great Lakes responded to the challenge. Our guide and adviser, Martin Okot, who accompanied us throughout, was really excellent. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Uganda - birds, animals, geography, history, the people and he was fun to be with. He really helped to make this trip meet all our complicated needs.

There are so many highlights - the gorillas, and the professionalism of the rangers in finding them after a few hours heavy climbing; the tree lions at Ishasha, much heard of in the past but almost reduced to mythology - until this trip; the camp on the river at Ishasha and watching elephants emerge from the forests to do their morning ablutions; the hippo frolicking in the hotel swimming pool at Paraa by moonlight. But above all the Ugandans, smiling, waving, always friendly, an enormous asset on which to build the future tourist industry and in which Great Lakes will surely lead the way.

Thank you Great Lakes! We will spread the news, but discretely!"

"We had an absolutely wonderful time in Uganda. We couldn't have asked for a more professional, knowledgeable, friendly guide than Martin. We learned so much during our visit, not only about your beautiful country and its spectacular wildlife, but the people and culture of Uganda as well. We feel very fortunate to have found Great Lakes Safaris, and Martin in particular. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering a visit to Uganda. Please feel free to include us as part of your reference list.

Thank you so much for all of your help in coordinating our trip, and please send Martin our sincere gratitude for a truly memorable experience."

"We had high expectations before coming to Uganda, given the family connections, but these were exceeded. What made that happen was the way we were treated by everyone at Great Lakes, from our first enquiry to the emotional good bye to Martin. We all feel a stronger connection to Uganda because we now have new and genuine friends at Great Lakes. We loved meeting Jaynefer, our first point of contact with a total interest in our well being. As for Martin, three weeks in a van with him was not long enough! He was wonderful and made our trip the success it was. He has extensive knowledge of Uganda and Africa, its animals, culture and not forgetting the birds! He was very diplomatic and sensitive to our needs, with a fantastic sense of humour, which I suppose is a pre-requisite for guiding 'strangers'. He's also an incredible driver & mechanic especially with such difficult roads. He will always be considered a friend and we're so looking forward to seeing him again.

The trip was excellent, we have already recommended you and will come back to Uganda. Thank you all for making our trip more than a holiday."
