CHOGM in Uganda
Years of preparation preceded this special event. And
in November Uganda was finally ready: on 21st November Her Majesty,
Queen Elizabeth II, along with other members of the Royal family
and delegates, were warmly welcomed in a festively decorated capital
city. A total of 48 representatives of Commonwealth countries, including
36 heads of government were present to attend the 19th edition of
the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
During
the three-day summit, attention was drawn to various topics, including
climate change, youth development, HIV/Aids and globalisation and
trade. The conference ended with a closing ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
Uganda can proudly look back at hosting one of the most successful
CHOGM meetings ever held and creating a memorable visit to Uganda.
One that will linger on forever...

in awe, in many different ways!
"We visited Uganda in October 2007. With 'we' I mean our
7 headed television crew from The Netherlands. In just 6 filming
days we wanted to capture the country on tape. A mission impossible
we thought in advance, but it turned out to be a peace of cake.
The nature's beauty, the friendly people, the lively villages: Uganda
is one of those rare spots in the world where every shot you make
is a good one!" Read
