Day
3: LANGANO - ARBA MINCH
Drive 300 km south to Arba Minch visiting the tribal people
of Alaba who are noted for their beautifully painted houses,
Wolita, known for their cultivation of Enset or False Banana,
and Dorze, who are renowned for their huge huts and colorful
cotton clothes, en route. Dinner and overnight at Paradise
Lodge.

4: ARBA MINCH
Morning visit of the Nech Sar National Park to visit mammals
like Swains Hartebeest (endemic), Burchil’s Zebra,
Grants Gazelle and also endemic birds like the thick-billed
raven, the Wattled ibis, and the mysterious Nech Sar nightjar,
and in the afternoon have a remarkable boat trip on the
rift valley lake of Chamo to visit the ‘crocodile
market’ where you can see display of large African
Crocodiles, hippopotamus, and low land water birds. Dinner
and overnight at Paradise Lodge.

5: ARBA MINCH - JINKA
Drive 275 km south to Jinka visiting the villages of the
Konso people who are renowned for their colorful hand-woven
cotton clothes and beautiful rock terraces. (If the day
is Thursday, stop on your way at Key Afer to visit the most
colorful multicultural market in the Lower Omo Valley, which
is attended, by the tribal groups of Ari, Benna, and Tsemai.)
Dinner and overnight at Jinka Resort Hotel.

6: JINKA
Today, you will have an excursion to the Mago National Park
and visit the people of Mursi who are typically known for
the clay lip plates of the women. Then, drive back to Jinka
and visit the Cultural Museum of the People of the Lower
Omo Valley. Dinner and overnight at Jinka Resort Hotel.
Day
7: JINKA - TURMI
Drive to Turmi – the village of the Hamer people whose
women are noted for their typical hairdressing, and leather
skirts. (If today is Saturday or Tuesday, you will have
a stop at the colorful weekly market of the Hamer and the
Benna people at Dimeka.) Dinner and overnight at Buska Lodge.

8: TURMI
In the morning, you will have an excursion to Omo Rate to
visit the Dasenech people who are the southernmost people
of the country and are known for their scarifications. Then,
with a picnic lunch stop at Murulle, head to Korcho –
the village of the Karo people. (OR if the day is Saturday
or Tuesday, have an excursion in the afternoon to visit
the colorful weekly market of the Hamer at Dimeka, or if
Monday at Turmi.) Dinner and overnight at Buska Lodge.

9: TURMI - YABELLO
Drive to Yabello with a stop at the villages of the nomadic
people of Erbore. Dinner and overnight at Yabello Motel.
Day
10: YABELLO - AWASSA
Head to the north visiting the nomadic people of Borena,
and the other people of Sidama who are renowned for their
cultivation of Enset or False Banana. Dinner and overnight
at Pina Hotel.
Day
11: AWASSA - ADDIS ABABA
Visiting the ‘Fish Market’ at the Shore of Lake
Awassa, drive back to Addis visiting the chains of the Rift
Valley Lakes of Langano, Abiyatta, Shalla, and Ziway. Have
a free afternoon in Addis. In the evening before departure,
have a fare well dinner party at one of the best traditional
restaurants where you will see the folkloric dances of the
people of Ethiopia, and taste the variety of Ethiopian meals.
After this party transfer to the airport for your continental
flight to Entebbe.
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport where you will
be welcomed and transfered to your hotel. Overnight at Airport
Guesthouse.

12: ENTEBBE - FORT PORTAL
Early breakfast and then transfer to Fort Portal, with traditional
homesteads and farms along the way. Fort Portal rests in
the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous
for the large tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori
View Guesthouse.
Day
13: MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON
Today you can enjoy the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its
full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills
and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic
views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional
witchdoctor at his home. We will also make a stop at the
Amabere Caves, where you can discover the small hidden waterfall
and admire the stalagmites and stalactites.
After this impressive day a cultural evening is awaiting
you with traditional dances and songs from different tribes
(only on Sundays!). Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View
Guesthouse.

14: FORT PORTAL - NSHENYI VILLAGE
Departure for Mbarara where you will have lunch before continuing
to Nshenyi Village. A beautiful route will take you to this
hidden, rural farm, where you can experience the traditional
way of living. Enjoy the rolling countryside of the Ankole
Kingdom and listen to the silence. Dinner and overnight
at Nshenyi Village.
Day
15: NSHENYI VILLAGE
The morning starts early as you go to the field to milk
the long horned Ankole cows. Return to the farm for breakfast,
before we take a short walk to the village of a Bahima tribe.
Experience the lifestyle of this traditional tribe and learn
more about where they live, what they eat and their other
native habits. In the afternoon you may want to decide to
go for a nature walk along the River Kagera, the natural
border with Tanzania. The trail leads through undulating
hills that overlook Nshenyi Village. Watch the unparalleled
richness of bird species as you look right into Tanzania.
In the evening you can enjoy traditional dancing and singing
of a non-professional local group. Dinner and overnight
at Nshenyi Village.
Day
16: NSHENYI VILLAGE - KAMPALA
After breakfast we depart Nshenyi. Enjoy the magnificent
view one more time as we slowly head back. Drive to Kampala
with lunch en route and usual stops at interesting places
like the Ugandan Equator. In the afternoon arrival in Kampala.
Overnight at Cassia Lodge.

17: CITY TOUR - DEPARTURE
Enriched
with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories
you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa. Depending on
your flight schedule you can join our guide on a city tour
and visit some interesting and historical sites. In time
you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your international
flight.
Note: This
safari combines a visit to different tribes in both Ethiopia
and Uganda. Both parts of the package can be booked separately
or you make the tour in opposite direction.
